Behavior Analysis is a science that seeks to understand the behavior of individuals as well as the factors that may influence them as a whole. Factors such as Experiential, Biological and Pharmacological features that influence humans and even animals with maladaptive behaviors. Its study undertakes the task of replacing these maladaptive behaviors with adaptive ones while alleviating problem behaviors to effect a prolonged and supported life for all involved. It treats adults and pediatrics based on age appropriate techniques and solutions.
The science of behavior analysis has made discoveries that have proven useful in addressing socially important behavior such as drug taking, healthy eating, workplace safety, education, and the treatment of pervasive developmental disabilities (e.g., autism). In addition, tackling issues from task refusal/Non Compliance, physical aggression, self-stimulatory behavior, vocal outbursts, Inappropriate socialization, isolation and elopement to name a few. It requires a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and most times a Behavior Assistant (BA) or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) however a Board-Certified Behavior Assistant (BCaBA) can work as long as supervised by BCBA.
