Looking out into the rain on this Sunday afternoon:
I see a depiction of a force that carries both blessings and curses.
There are times in our lives where there are showers of good tidings that bring us great joys, like the look on a mother’s facewhen she looks into her newborn’s eyes for the first time, the shouts of joy when your team wins the competition or the proud feeling a family gets when they purchase their first home.
Yet that very same rain can bring with it a storm of terror.
How painful it is to rush a sick child to the ER, to see close friends pass away or to have all your finances collapse and file for bankruptcy.
Let us learn to appreciate the rain for the good that it brings, preparing ourselves to cope with the things that aren’t so good.
